Now I will be discussing the use of Essential Oils and how it applies to utilize horses; we will investigate some of their histories, how you might have been misled by some information on their safe usage, and on how they work.

Essential Oils themselves have been around for hundreds of years and in today’s world more and more people are turning to their use for use on themselves and their animals and specifically the horse. Bat Removal Melbourne

Using these various oils within the equine industry has a somewhat restricted historic time frame since it has only been proven to be accepted over the past couple of years. It’s been the acceptance of the use of Essential Oils which have allowed many new advances within specific equine-based protocols. We’ve been using our own proprietary Essential Oil Blends for over three decades and have given us a better understanding of what to look for and how to relate to a specific requirement of your horse.

Getting back to the background of Essential Oils; each oil contains hundreds of compounds which have been found useful in many distinct ways to assist in specific problems. . The fact of the matter is that an Essential Oil can and often does react differently for each person or animal that it is introduced to. It is at this point that you need to learn to trust your, or your animal’s, body’s response to the oil that is being presented. The key point to understand is that every individual oil is a combination of compounds and that same oil is never a single organic compound.

So now that we have somewhat covered the way that people and animals respond to the use of these oils let’s look at how they actually work. As we now know, Essential Oils are compiled of many diverse compounds in a single oil and our bodies, as well as our animals, have comparative substances that let them interact with the seven key organ systems, such as; the lymphatic system, the nervous system, the digestive system, etc. What this reverts back to is analyzing the origin of the issue and seeing what can be done to fix it; rather than focusing on the symptom of the problem itself. If you are to focus on taking care of just 1 symptom won’t ever look after the root of this problem; the only results you’ll receive are additional symptoms. Essential Oils are known to have the ability to treat both the physical side and the emotional side of any problem that arises.

We always stress that when working with horses and introducing them to the use of Essential Oils it always needs to be achieved through the use of”Aromatherapy” rather than any other method. We follow this path due to the fact that there are a number of vital Oils that should not be digested and it is always better to be overly cautious and not create a problem. The second reason that we stress this procedure is that a number of oils in their entire strength can harm a horse’ skin since their skin is more sensitive than human skin. Horses, to safely use a vital Oil that is applied topically require the oil to be diluted to just 2.5% variable of containing the actual oil or blend of oils; that is to saythat a”carrier” oil should be 97.5%. The Proprietary Essential Oil Blends that we use are diluted into the 2.5% ration and are safe to use topically as well as through the use of aromatherapy.

In actuality, we’ve got a movie that shows how we introduce all the horses which we work with to our Proprietary Essential Oil Blends situated at. This video both verbally explains and visually shows the process that we go through to introduce the oils into the horses which we work with.

Another important point to bring out is that there are no proteins in any Essential Oil, therefore there may be no allergic reaction to any of these oils. It is the proteins in a variety of things that create an allergic reaction to this particular item.

In case you may be wondering how all this comes together and interacts; it is accomplished through basically one very small area of the brain. In fact, the area I am referring to is about the size and shape of an almond. That portion of the brain is called the”Amygdala” which more or less is involved with your horse’s emotion. The emotion that’s referred to this, when looking at the mind of the horse, based in fear and rage; this emotion is not feeling sad, being joyful, or some other points that we encounter. It’s much more in the region of being crude in nature in addition to instinctive and reacts in that fashion.

The Amygdala is part of the”limbic system” of the brain that does consist of the same primitive area. It is this system of the brain that leads to many of your horse’s unresolved problems and where they are generally located. All the factors that have affected them in the past, the ones that they couldn’t understand or relate to are stored here and are brought forward from time to time. The reason that I bring this point forward is that this is one of the main and controlling regions of stress-production and it’s the area that can be affected the most through the use of Essential Oils since this area is directly affected through the nasal passages. Stress produces fear and fear produces a flight reaction, so being able to relate to the genuine problem can help to both understand the origin of the problem and give us a path to follow that will allow for correction of the problem.

Knowing all of this let’s look to the future and the role that Essential Oils can play within the whole range of the Equine Industry during the next few decades. I believe that the use of Essential Oils and the knowledge required to use them correctly will expand greatly.

Let’s look at one simple product which were promoted for decades,”Bengay” cream that’s been used for years as a topical cream for relief of aches and pain. This kind of information has opened the door for people to understand they have been using the properties of several oils for years and not even knowing it. It has also shown that the skills of these oils are proven and accepted, simply not openly.

I’ve seen a genuine acceptance of using Essential Oils by the horses, or even from the owners in many cases. I have found that horses do not lie, it will either work or it will not, it is that simple. That’s what I base my prediction of the future increase of the use of these oils inside the horse community, of course, there’ll be opposition, but opposition can be overcome with education and dedication. We’ll continue to work with the whole horse community to expand the use of Essential Oils and other alternative protocols; simply because we understand them and know that they work.
